Vocational training or formal apprenticeship in Printing Technology, B.E. Printing technology
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of offset lithography, ink/water balance, substrate behaviors, and inline coating/drying systems (UV/IR).
Color Vision: Must pass a standard color vision/blindness test.
Press Operation & Setup: Perform full setup, makeready, plate mounting, ink distribution, and feeder/delivery adjustments on 6-color and 8-color Heidelberg perfecting presses.
Perfecting Management: Manage press configurations for both single-pass 8-color printing and 4/4 perfecting modes, ensuring accurate front-to-back registration and tension control.
Color Management: Monitor inking, dampening, and color accuracy using spectrophotometers/densitometers (e.g., Heidelberg Prinect) to match approved press proofs.
Quality Assurance: Inspect running sheets for defects, registration shifts, hickeys, set-off, or color variation at defined production intervals.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance (lubrication, roller adjustments, wash-ups) and diagnose mechanical or print quality issues during runs.
Crew Leadership: Direct and collaborate with press assistants and feeders to ensure standard operating procedures and output targets are met safely.
